How Fast A Person Can Run Doesn’t Determine How They’ll Finish The Race, But This Does…

Your attitude can make or break you. It’s virtually indisputable that your attitude determines how far you’ll go in life and a positive mental outlook can help you achieve optimal success. Having a winning attitude helps you cope with challenges and when you’re put to the test, you’re more likely to find your inner strengths to overcome adversity, with a winning attitude.

On the other hand, an attitude filled with negative overtones makes everything much harder. You can’t win when you go into the contest prepared to lose! If you expect to do well, your attitude will create positive, winning thoughts that help you succeed.

I heard a very interesting statement long ago that really stuck with me. The statement was… “you can measure a person’s height, you can measure how high a person can jump, you can even measure how fast they can run, but you cannot measure a person’s heart.” What this means is that you never know what’s in a person’s heart and just how hard someone will work for something.

BannerAd2-2This statement stuck with me because the more I thought about it I realized how true it was. You never know how bad someone wants something in life and how far they will go to achieve it. We hear every day how people reach these amazing goals or reach these amazing heights in life. We hear how hard they work and how they just would not give up. The amazing thing that most people don’t realize is that they are no different than those people.

The only difference between those people and the people that don’t reach their goals or their dreams in life is one thing… and that one thing is a winning attitude!

Warren Buffett has famously said “I always knew I was going to be rich. I don’t think I ever doubted it for a minute.”

I never doubted I would be wealthy either. That’s not a statement of arrogance. It’s a statement of confidence. At that time, I didn’t know how I was going to build wealth, but I certainly knew that I would. The backstop of that confidence came from a winning attitude.

They can because they think they can” said Virgil.

You will only have a $1,000,000 net worth this year if you first believe you can. If you do not believe you can, you are telling yourself you want it, but it is truly not obtainable.

The truth of life is that man’s limits are self-imposed by what the mind is given to believe. If you expand your belief of your own abilities, you will also expand your true realm of accomplishment.

But many people get beat-down by life and never adopt the winning attitude. For example, what if you faced the following adversity:

* Failed in business at age 31
* Failed again in business at age 34
* Had a nervous breakdown at age 36
* Lost a major competition at age 38
* Lost another major competition at age 43
* Lost another major competition at age 46
* Lost another major competition at age 48
* Lost another major competition at age 55
* Lost another major competition at age 56
* Lost another major competition at age 58

Would you give up under these circumstances? Well, a person with a winning attitude did not. Abraham Lincoln won the very next election and was elected President of the United States at age 60. With all the adversity that faced him, Lincoln had no reason to continually try other than the fact that he believed it was his destiny. He knew that eventually he would win.

Man is what he believes” -Anton Checkhov

Unfortunately most people let their circumstances or others set the bar on how far they will go in life. They also let fear dictate to them. Fear is real. Don’t let anyone tell you different. But by letting fear rule, a person is bound to set unrealistic limitations on themselves. They let their minds tell them what they can and cannot do before they even try to accomplish the task they have in front of them.

Which brings me to the point of this article – To have a winning attitude you must first believe. You must believe you will win in anything before you even attempt it. Sun Tzu stated in the book “The Art of War” that “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.”

I personally think that most people try to win in life with the wrong mindset and attitude. They need to think positive and get rid of the negative self-talk. They must learn to stay focused on positive thoughts and know in their hearts and minds that they are equipped with the right talents and gifts and that they can achieve anything they put their minds to.

So, do you have an expectation of winning in everything you do? If not, I encourage you to let go of the negative limitations in your mind and allow yourself to see the victory first, this habit will help you reach great success. Whatever great idea or passion you have in your heart. I inspire you to go for it. You will experience life in a whole other area than you are used to now. Get out of your comfort zone and be the winner that you know you are. It’s what you think, not what others think, that matters.

If someone were to measure your heart relative to your goals, what would it show? How hard will you work to be financially free? Decide today to adopt a winning attitude… and win!
