Are You Still Suffering As A Paycheck Hostage? Then You Should Just Go F*** Yourself!

For those that are not free, life can often be a masquerade.

You feign excitement for the company Christmas party that you would rather skip out on. You train yourself to exude enthusiasm at your job, even when it’s the last place you want to be. Although there will always be instances where you are forced to grin and bear it, living the “robotic life” has now become problematic as it begins to take precedence over what would bring you true happiness.

You feel like you’re faking it. Not being who you truly are meant to be. A fraud.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds. -Bob Marley

Imagine that someone presents you with a to-do list and tells you that you better hurry and start crossing things off. Anxiously, you begin working your way through the list. One of the first to-do’s is sending your resume to be considered for a boring job you’re sure to hate. You had hopes and dreams of being wealthy by now and maybe travelling the world, but this person laughs at the mere thought because you could never do that.

The job, while not really engaging or challenging, is on the stable, safe path you tell yourself. When you finish writing the cover letter to accompany the resume, the overseer criticizes the result and belittles your effort.

Taking a break from marking things off of the list, you watch a little news on TV. The whole time, the annoying person won’t shut up telling you how you should think and feel about each negative story that comes on the news. They do their commentary long enough to point out that you’re not getting ahead and not where you should be in life.

Even when you go to bed, the pest just will not leave you alone. Standing by the bed, they chatter incessantly, picking apart the events of the workday in minute detail, dredging up the events of the past and reminding you that you need to worry about money in the future.

You’d certainly be justified in wanting to backhand this person and tell them to “shut up!”

Understandably, you probably wouldn’t want to be around this person or consider them very nice, yet many people go thru life every day like this, without thinking anything of it.

But not you.

That’s why you’re reading this blog, because you want something different. You want to go free yourself.

And to free yourself financially, you just need to do two things – change the way you think and change the way you do things.

Let’s first take a look at ways to think differently:

The first step to freeing yourself is to change your thoughts and attitude about wealth. The mind has to be cleared from its wrong concepts about wealth, before it can start to manifest wealth for you. This is done by bringing to consciousness all of your thoughts and ideas about money and prosperity.

Take a pen and a sheet of paper, and find a place to be alone and undisturbed for a while. Think about wealth and what it means to you, and then jot down any thought that comes into your mind. Write down every thought, good and bad, positive and negative. Do this for at least ten minutes or until you do not find more ideas and thoughts.

After you finish writing, read, think, and analyze what you have written. You will be surprised at the stuff that comes out of your mind. This analysis will help you to find out where and why you are inhibiting yourself in regard to success, money, and prosperity. You will find out what thoughts and wrong concepts have been holding you back.

You will discover the fears that have been holding you back from success, and from manifesting any degree of riches in your life. There might be various reasons to account for that. You may have been educated to regard wealth as bad and corrupting. You may have experienced lack in your childhood, and now you are locked into the belief that it is not possible to improve your life or that you do not deserve to possess money.

It might be that you shun the responsibility and the work that wealth might entail.

Maybe you are afraid that you would not be able to handle wealth or that you will not know what to do with it.

These reasons or any others, might be responsible for not experiencing prosperity and wealth.

The inner inhibitions are mostly due to past mental programming, making you feel and believe that you are not worthy, do not deserve success or that wealth and money should be avoided.

If you perform this analysis sincerely, you will find out what thoughts and attitudes hinder your way to success, and it will be clearer to you what you should do. Now that they are out, it will be easier to handle these inhibitions, free yourself from their grip, and start attracting wealth into your life.

If one session is not enough, keep writing down your thoughts, and think about them every day until feel you have discovered what is holding you back.

After this analysis, you will find it easier to change your thoughts and attitude toward money, possessions and wealth.

Now let’s talk about what you do with money. Focus your energies here and make a point of doing, or at least trying, the following. You should see a marked increase in your approach to money over time.

1. Set Aside Time To Act On Your Finances. For example, plan every Monday evening to spend an hour or more checking your bank account, paying your bills, reviewing your budget, and talking about money with your spouse. Think about investment opportunities in real estate or stocks that you might be able to capitalize on. Give some thought to starting your own company or developing income streams other than the salary you get from your job.

2. Create A Budget. If you don’t already one, make a budget now. A budget can serve as a real eye-opener to what you are spending your money on and it will afford you greater control over your spending habits. It will also ease the fear-of-the-unknown factor by giving you a firm grasp on your financial situation rather than having your finances simply be a black hole.

3. Pay Off Debt. Once people become debt-free, the amount of worry about money decreases dramatically. This simple act alone can give someone guilt, less pressure, and a renewed sense of freedom. This can be especially true if you owe money to a family member or friend. Use the time you have set aside to deal with money to construct a plan to eradicate debt. My tagline of “Be free. Nothing else is worth it.”  is on purpose. There is nothing, nothing, nothing in this world worth you being a debt-slave and not being free.

4. Build an Emergency Fund. Everyone who has freed themselves has money saved up in an emergency fund in case anything expensive and unexpected happens, like having to replace your water heater or losing your current source of income. Save at least six months’ worth of living expenses or sett a goal to do so. I see a lot of eye rolling when I mention emergency funds to someone who’s struggling financially. Their minds cannot fathom anything going wrong in the future. Life doesn’t work like that. In fact, I always say challenges come in threes – the washing machine will need to be replaced during the same week that the car breaks down and the dentist tells you that your daughter needs braces. Thinking that you won’t need an emergency fund is the domain of the naive. Remember, the goal is to free yourself, not gamble.

5. Simplify Your Finances. When finances become overwhelming, simplification is often the solution. Aim to have one checking account, one savings account, and one credit card. Having only three accounts will calm your worries because it is a lot less to monitor and control. If your finances are the equivalent of a modern daycircus, complete with clowns, do yourself a favor and reign-in the complexity. To channel Einstein, if you can’t explain your finances to a child, you’re not on top of it. Seek to simplify things. If nothing else, this will free up brain cycles to focus on growing your wealth.

6. Don’t Finance Luxuries. If you’re not where you want to be financially, maybe it’s time to look at cutting-out the things you don’t really need. Are you financing luxuries? For example, do you have Amazon Prime, Netflix, and a heavy-duty cable subscription with all the channels on your credit card bill? Cancel cable and stop watching TV. Do you eat out for lunch? Pack a healthy brown bag lunch instead. Do you drive an expensive car? Trade it in for something more affordable. Is your mortgage payment more than 30% of your take home pay? Sell that house and get into a home you can realistically afford. Run your numbers and see how much you can save by cutting-out a few things.

7. Understand Investing. It’s no longer acceptable to be in the dark when it comes to investing. Historically, investors have been rewarded for buying low and staying in the market, even through tumultuous periods. On the flip side, people who don’t understand investing tend to buy high and sell low, cementing their status as a speculator that always loses his shirt in the market. To become financially free you must save to build an investment capital fund and then invest it intelligently. To invest intelligently you must understand investing. Go to the library and read everything you can about investing. Study the greats like Warren Buffet and become a true student of investing and watch your wealth soar.

In summary, the essential step in breaking free of financial slavery is for a person to make the commitment to themselves to do so. Like most everything in life, financial slavery can only happen if you allow it. I can attest that taking control of your mind is taking control of your life. It has allowed me to dramatically change myself and my life for the better. It’s allowed me to free myself.

Go free yourself.

Be free. Nothing else is worth it.

Very powerful points here. The hard truth is many people can only blame themselves for their own poor situation but they dont see it. They cry about how broke they are but its mostly self inflicted. Making bad decisions and financing large purchases under bad terms. They’ll also have the big cable TV package, cell phone(s), and plenty of booze and cigarettes. The truth is you dont really need as much stuff as you have been led to believe through all the marketing and advertising. Get your mind right and make some adjustments. Even small changes can really make a difference. You can still have fun and do most things you want. You just have to practice good judgement, moderation, and self-discipline.
